Hi, NC Students and NC Parents! We are excited to be able to share that over Spring Break 2022 (March 11th – March 16th) we are planning a Ski Trip for our 8th-12th grade students. We believe this is a special and exciting way to foster and grow our student’s friendships with each other and invite others into that community. This is a fresh and exciting new trip for us, but that also means it is critical that you have the information you need. Below is a list of information about the breakdown of costs, payment schedule, participant cap, travel, and further communication.

Cost Breakdown

$600 Participant Cost
This will cover everything from the minute we depart to when we arrive back at the church EXCEPT for one dinner in Glenwood Springs on Monday Night. The payment is not due all at once, but once the initial deposit has been paid the entirety of the cost becomes non-refundable, due to the financial reality of booking lodging and tickets.

A breakdown of when money is due is as follows:
Initial Deposit: $150 – Oct 31st (Due Upon Registration)
1st Payment Due: $150 – November 30th
2nd Payment Due: $150* – January 15th
3rd Payment Due: $150 – February 15th

$50 Ski Lessons
This will be required for first-timers. If you are an experienced skier or snowboarder, you may forgo this cost. This cost will be added to the *January 15th payment.

*Optional: If a participant wants to snowboard instead of ski, that rental is an additional $30 and will be added to the *January payment.

There is a cap of 24 students for this trip, and it is first come first serve for spots, so please register ahead of the deadline of October 31st!

Travel and Transportation - We will be traveling as a convoy with 3 vans total. Two 15-Passenger transit vans and 1 cargo van. We will have six adult leaders who are all able to rotate driving for the duration of the trip. We will depart from New Covenant Friday around 5pm and drive into the evening. We will be spending the night in a town about 4 hours into our trip, which currently has not been determined. We will inform you when we have scheduled a place! Finally, we will be departing in the morning on Saturday for Glenwood Springs, CO. On Wednesday for the return trip, we will be leaving early that morning and driving the trip back to arrive at New Covenant that night.

Lodging - We will be staying at the Glenwood Suites in Glenwood Springs, CO. It is located just off Interstate 70 at the West Glenwood exit, and will be where we stay Saturday Night – Tuesday Night.

Food - All food will be covered, including during travel, EXCEPT for one dinner in Glenwood Springs on Monday Night. If there are any dietary restrictions or allergies, please communicate that to the Student Ministry Director.
